TRUSTroke: new EU project uses AI for predictive ischemic stroke management

Collaborating research teams from three European hospitals hope to securely provide clinical information from patient reports, using artificial intelligence, to identify patterns in disease progression and health risks associated with strokes. It is hoped that this research will help predict the short- and long-term impact of ischemic stroke and enable doctors and patients plan more effective and personalised long-term care.

ANGIE: using nano-robots to deliver targeted drugs and unblock blood vessels to fight stroke from within

The research process led to the development of 3D-printed re-constructions of patient’s brain vessels based on their MRI scans. The accuracy of these brain 3D models has been recognised in the medical community for their ability to facilitate a realistic and safe environment for doctors treating stroke to hone their skills, which could lead to earlier and more extensive training.

VALIDATE: Using Artificial Intelligence to improve outcomes for stroke patients

The VALIDATE team are leveraging datasets encompassing thousands of patient profiles and state-of-the-art AI models, to develop and validate a clinical decision support system in an App format. The App aims to empower healthcare professionals in choosing the optimal treatment strategy tailored to each patient’s unique circumstances to improve stroke outcomes.
